Product Longevity

Information given on the action of the products used and the expected results is approximate. As everyone metabolises and responds to products in different ways and we cannot precisely predict longevity or results and no refunds will be given if longevity or results do not occur as expected.

Paracetamol (Panadol) can be used for pain relief. Please avoid non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications (Advil, Nurofen, Ibuprofen etc) and oral and topical steroids unless directed by your registered health professional.

Drink water. It is important to stay hydrated before and after your procedure to help your skin heal and rejuvenate faster.

Anti-Wrinkle Treatments

  • Don’t lie down for four hours post treatment – this particularly relates to not lying on your face (i.e. attending a massage) where your facial muscles are compressed or altered from their normal resting position as this may alter the effect of the product placement. If possible, remain upright for four to six hours post treatment – i.e. sitting, standing and walking as normal.
  • Don’t touch the injection sites for twelve hours immediately following treatment – this reduces the risk of infection transmitted from hands or movement of the product into unwanted muscles.
  • Don’t massage the treatment area for 24 hours – this ensures the product remains in the location where it was precisely placed to achieve the best effect, as well as for infection prevention as above.
  • No strenuous exercise for 24 hours – this relates to product placement, reducing infection and reducing bruising and bleeding due to increased blood pressure and heart rate when exercising.
  • Do not use a sauna or spa for 24 hours – this relates to infection control as well as bleeding and bruising reduction.
  • Don’t drink alcohol for 24 hours post treatment – this relates to bleeding and bruising and minimising the risk of product interaction.
  • Avoid dental work for forty-eight hours afterward to avoid movement of the product into unwanted muscles.
  • Be aware that it can take up to fourteen days for the full effect of the treatment to take place – the majority of patients will notice a minor change in the strength of their muscles after three days, however the maximum effect occurs at fourteen days and during this time there may be muscle asymmetry which is normal.
  • Makeup may be worn 24 hours after treatment

Dermal Filler Treatments

  • Don’t touch the injection sites for twelve hours immediately following treatment – this relates to reducing the risk of infection transmitted from hands.
  • Please note that our pre-treatment advice was to not have dental treatment (excluding a check up) for four weeks before and after as this can misplace the filler.
  • Avoid domestic flight for 72 hours and international travel for two weeks after treatment. This is to ensure that in the rare case of vascular occlusion or compression or other complication, that care can be organised in a timely manner for you.
  • No strenuous exercise for 24 hours – this relates to both product placement, reducing infection and reducing bruising and bleeding due to increased blood pressure and heart rate when exercising.
  • Do not use a sauna or spa for 24 hours – this relates to infection control as well as bleeding and bruising reduction.
  • Don’t drink alcohol for 24 hours post treatment – this relates to bleeding and bruising and minimising the risk of product interaction.
  • Avoid pressure on treated areas for the first few nights post treatment. If possible, sleep on your back – this relates to product being placed in precise locations to achieve the desired cosmetic outcome.
  • Avoid facials, facial waxing, chemical peels, laser/IPL or energy-based treatments and microdermabrasion for two weeks after treatment – this relates to skin trauma and reducing the risk of infection and interaction with product.
  • Do not massage the treated area unless instructed by your medical professional – this relates to the precise placement of the product as well as reducing the risk of infection through transmission from hands.
  • If a small lump occurs after filler treatment, that is after the initial 24 hours period, you can massage the area gently or discuss this with your SKYE Cosmetic Clinic medical professional who will advise accordingly.
  • It is essential that you attend your follow up appointments at two weeks and four weeks post your original treatment. This will allow you to discuss your treatment with your SKYE Cosmetic Clinic medical professional who can provide advice. It also helps us to ensure the desired results you are looking for are achieved.
  • Makeup may be worn 24 hours after treatment.

Medical Grade Chemical Peel Treatment

  • Use a gentle moisturiser to keep the skin hydrated and restore some moisture. Keep in mind that moisturising will prolong the peeling process as the softened skin won't flake off as quickly)
  • Avoid sun exposure for 14 days post treatment and wear SPF as your skin will be sensitive to UV rays
  • Do not pick, peel or scratch the treated area for 14 days post treatment
  • Do not use retinol, vitamin C, glycolic acid, salicylic acid or lactic acid for 14 days post treatment
  • Do not exfoliate (mechanically or chemically) for 14 days post treatment
  • Do not use a sauna or exercise excessively, until the skin shows signs of healing, as sweat can irritate the skin
  • Makeup may be worn 24 hours after most treatments except resurfacing when you should wait 48 hours

PRP Treatment

  • Mild to moderate redness, pain, bruising and swelling is normal and will resolve in seven to ten days
  • After the PRP application to the skin, it is recommended not to wash your face or apply liquid make-up for at least 12 hours post-procedure. This is to allow platelets to activate and release growth factors to start the skin rejuvenation process. If you need to wash your face, please use warm water without soap.
  • Avoid sun exposure for 14 days post treatment
  • Minimal alcohol, coffee, caffeine; and nil supplements that may increase bruising for 2 days post procedure
  • Nil exercise that would usually either create a flushed face or excessive facial perspiration for 24 hours
  • Very rarely, patients can have a significant response to the injected PRP, and local swelling at the cannula injection under eye area can occur. This is due to the body initiating a pronounced regenerative process in the area and will usually be evident at the time of the procedure. The treating practitioner will assess and apply ice for a short period to calm down the local response to minimise post procedure downtime. If progressive swelling should occur after you leave the clinic, apply ice wrapped in a cloth to the area for 5-10.

PRP Hair Treatment

  • Mild to moderate redness, pain, bruising and swelling is normal and will resolve in seven to ten days
  • Avoid sun exposure for 14 days post treatment
  • After the PRP application to the skin, it is recommended not to wash your hair for at least 12 hours post-procedure. This is to allow platelets to activate and release growth factors to start the hair rejuvenation process.

Skin Needling Treatment

  • Mild to moderate redness, pain, bruising and swelling is normal and will resolve in seven to ten days
  • Avoid sun exposure for 14 days post treatment
  • Use products high in peptides. As skin needling stimulates the production of collagen, the skin needs higher amounts of collagen than normal to recover optimally. Peptides assist in that process, further aiding in the stimulation of collagen production.
  • Avoid the use of makeup for 24 hours after treatment. It is imperative that you let your skin breathe. Using a makeup brush that has been used before can contaminate the skin and, consequently, lead to infections. Wait 24 to 48 hours before you apply face makeup to give your skin the necessary recovery time.
  • Avoid vigorous exercise or perspiring heavily for 24-48 hours. As you sweat the pores of your skin will reopen, and the bacteria on your skin may enter the skin punctures. This can lead to a reaction or infection.

IV Therapy

  • Please contact your medical professional if you feel unwell or your cannulation/injection site becomes red, swollen or painful.

Anti-Wrinkle Treatments

Anti-wrinkle treatments are non-surgical, cosmetic injectables procedures that reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Anti-wrinkle injections work by relaxing the muscles in your face that directly cause facial wrinkles, allowing you to achieve a rejuvenated appearance and a much more refreshed looking 'you'. The process of these injections is relatively quick and easy which involves the injection of a small amount of a purified protein into specific muscles of the face. When injected into your skin under the arm, anti-wrinkle treatments can also be used to treat excessive sweating. Depending on the condition of your skin, results may be visible as early as 3-5 days of receiving treatment. Generally, you’ll see full results on average 5-7 days following the injections and lasts approximately 3-4 months.

It is extremely important that if you are considering anti-wrinkle injections for the first time, that you understand there is more than one type of medication that can be used and that even though they all work in the same way, the doses required vary between the products.

Anti-wrinkle injections are one of the most effective and cost effective non-surgical cosmetic injectables treatments for correcting lines and wrinkles, caused by muscle movement. Wrinkles and lines are a natural part of ageing that form over time through repeated muscle movements, which cause deep and irreversible facial folds to form. Anti-wrinkle injections work by relaxing the muscles in your face that directly cause facial wrinkles, allowing you to achieve a rejuvenated appearance and a much younger-looking you. Our anti-wrinkle injections offered can be used to treat:

  • Forehead – Horizontal lines above the eyebrows
  • Frown lines – Vertical lines between the eyebrows
  • Crow’s feet – Lines at the side of the eyes
  • Brow Lifts
  • Lip Flips
  • Smile lines – side of the nose (bunny lines)
  • Gummy smile
  • Asymmetrical eyebrows
  • General lines or wrinkles – around the mouth and/or caused by sun exposure

Do dermal fillers hurt?

Pain is extremely subjective and everyone has different thresholds, however, the cosmetic injectable products used contain anaesthetic. Additionally, a topical numbing agent may be applied to further reduce any discomfort. Our treatment times allow for our Medical Professional to inject you at a pace that is comfortable to you so you will not feel rushed if you need to take the procedure a bit more slower. Ladies please note when booking, that the week of or week prior to your period, your pain sensitivity is heightened.

What results can I expect?

Dermal Filler results are visible straight away, however you may experience some swelling and bruising for approximately 5 – 7 days after your treatment. This is completely normal after treatment and applying ice or a bruising cream to the area can assist in the reduction of this.

Lumps and bumps are also common after being treated whilst the filler is settling into the tissue which is why it’s important to ensure you attend your 4 week follow up appointment. This follow up appointment is complimentary and allows for our medical professional to review your treatment and ensure the filler is integrating nicely into your tissue.

Why does filler last longer in some than others?

It is such a big unknown as to why product lasts longer in some than others, however we try and give an approximate guideline with regards to our standard and thick fillers. However each individual is different and there are many factors that can influence how quickly someone’s body dissolves the filler e.g. lifestyle, if you exercise a lot or have a high metabolic rate.
