What are Liquid Gold Injections?
Liquid Gold Injection Therapy rejuvenates your skin by injecting an extract of your own blood that contains a high concentration of platelets, active proteins and growth factors that are vital for tissue regeneration and healing. Poor skin texture, fine lines, wrinkles, sagging and uneven tone generally reflect aged and damaged tissues, therefore 'liquid gold' is a useful and natural intervention that aids with tissue and collagen stimulation and is also the leading treatment in hair restoration.
Collagen tissue is detrimental to giving our skin its youthful, soft and spongy texture, however, unfortunately as we age, collagen production in the body starts to slow. 'Liquid gold' is convenient and effective for collagen and elastin production as dermal fillers cannot directly address the texture and health of collagen tissue, although they can be used in conjunction with 'liquid gold'. Across all treatment areas such as surgery, sports medicine, orthopaedics, dental and aesthetics, there are over 5000 published scientific research papers that have proven that 'liquid gold' is effective for tissue regeneration and improved healing.
What can I expect during the treatment?
Blood is drawn from your arm and placed into a centrifuge where the blood is spun to separate the red blood cells, plasma and platelets. Medical grade topical anaesthetic is applied to the treatment area to ensure that the procedure is tolerable and comfortable. The 'liquid gold' is then extracted and injected into the main areas of concern such as the face to encourage collagen production and new skin cells, or the scalp to encourage new hair growth. This can be performed using micro needles or a five point crystal injector. The five point crystal injector can also be used on the scalp.
Skin Rejuvenation:
'Liquid gold' can be used to treat the tone, elasticity and texture of the skin, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, minimise the appearance of scars, reduce dark circles and hollows under the eyes, decrease signs of sun damaged and aged skin, promote even skin tone and texture and address mild collagen and volume loss. It can also be used to treat the neck, décolletage, back of the hands and stretch marks on various areas of the body (breasts, abdomen, thighs and buttocks). When 'liquid gold' is injected back into the skin layers, it initiates a local stem cell response. In the next weeks and months post treatment, these stem cells assist in forming new collagen structure and blood vessels, repair and regenerate damaged skin, and help delay and reverse the signs of ageing to create healthy skin that looks refreshed and rejuvenated.
Hair Restoration:
'Liquid gold' can be injected into the scalp which causes miniaturised hair follicles to become more healthier and larger and produce more robust hair growth. 'Liquid gold' causes the activation of follicular progenitor cells (adult stem cells) and promotes angiogenesis and localised cell growth. 'Liquid gold' is effective for both male and female pattern hair loss.
When will I see results?
Immediately post treatment the skin may feel tighter than it usually is and fine lines and wrinkles will appear minimised. After 4 days, the tightness will subside, however the 'liquid gold' will continue working beneath the surface of the skin to form new skin cells and improve the subsurface layers of the skin. Generally after 3 weeks, the hydration, texture and tone of the skin will have an overall improvement, and between 3 and 6 weeks, new collagen and blood vessels have formed to improve the appearance of the skin. Fine lines and skin elasticity will continue to improve for months following the treatment, and the effects of 'liquid gold' can last 12 months to 2 years. Results vary depending on the individual, and although 'liquid gold' cannot provide immediate volume like dermal fillers can, it can provide patients with a more youthful and rejuvenated complexion that has longer term benefits to the skin.
How often should I receive treatments?
Published research and our Doctors' results have shown that the best results are achieved by a series of 3 treatments at 4 to 6 week intervals. It is also recommended to have one treatment per year to maintain results. Depending on the patient's age, some patients choose to return every six months rather than yearly.
