Skin Needling

Skin needling is a non-surgical skin rejuvenation treatment designed to support collagen and elastin production through the use of fine needles that create controlled micro-channels within the skin. This process may assist with improving overall skin texture and reducing the appearance of acne scarring, surgical scars, stretch marks, fine lines, enlarged pores, and uneven skin tone.

At SKYE Cosmetic Clinic, we use Dermapen technology to provide personalised skin needling treatments tailored to individual skin concerns and treatment goals. Adjustable needle depths allow treatment customisation for different areas and skin conditions, including scarring, pigmentation, skin texture, and overall skin rejuvenation.

Dermapen utilises sterile, disposable needle cartridges to support high hygiene standards and minimise the risk of cross-contamination. Treatments are generally performed every 4 to 6 weeks depending on individual treatment plans and skin concerns.

Skin needling may be performed on the face, under-eye area, neck, décolletage, hands, scalp, and various areas of the body depending on individual concerns and suitability.

A medical-grade topical anaesthetic is applied prior to treatment to maximise comfort throughout the procedure. Individual pain tolerance varies from person to person, however most clients tolerate the treatment well.

Following skin needling, temporary redness, dryness, tightness, mild swelling, or flaking may occur. These effects are generally temporary and commonly settle within several days following treatment.

Skin needling may not be suitable for individuals with certain skin conditions, active acne, active infections, or those taking specific medications such as anticoagulant therapy. A consultation and assessment are required prior to treatment to determine individual suitability.
