Dissolving Volume Treatments
Dissolving treatment involves the use of a prescription-only medicine designed to break down hyaluronic acid-based volumising product previously placed within the tissue. This treatment may be considered in cases where clients are experiencing concerns relating to migration, asymmetry, overcorrection, swelling, lumpiness or undesired cosmetic outcomes.
Treatment suitability is determined following a comprehensive consultation and assessment by a qualified health professional.
Dissolving treatment may be discussed for concerns including:
• Migration of previous volumising treatment
• Asymmetry or irregular texture
• Overfilled or unnatural appearance
• Persistent swelling or lumpiness
• Preparation for future treatment planning
• Individual preference or cosmetic concerns
A prescription-only medicine is administered into the targeted treatment area to assist with breaking down hyaluronic acid-based product within the tissue. The body then naturally metabolises the dissolved material over time.
Some individuals may require multiple treatment sessions depending on the amount and location of previous treatment.
Common treatment areas may include:
• Lips
• Under-eye area
• Cheeks
• Chin
• Jawline
• Nasolabial folds
• Other areas previously treated with hyaluronic acid-based volumising products
A medical-grade topical anaesthetic may be applied prior to treatment to maximise comfort throughout the procedure. Individual pain tolerance varies from person to person.
Temporary swelling, redness, tenderness, bruising, or unevenness may occur following treatment. These effects are generally temporary and vary depending on the treatment area and individual response.
In some cases, additional dissolving sessions or review appointments may be recommended.
Dissolving treatment is only effective for hyaluronic acid-based volumising products and may not be suitable for all individuals or all treatment types.
